Skimming the surface of the water
Alongside my sisters and my brother
We're learning how to catch fish
Can't tell you how many times we've missed
But we're having so much fun nonetheless
Discovering what it means to be a Pteranodon
We're pterosaurs who've evolved to have no teeth
We spend a lot of time in the air
But also at sea level
If we find a fish
We just dunk in our sharp slender beaks
When I grow older
Things will change
I'll grow a head crest
It will make me so bold
When I grow older
I'll head out on my own
But I'll keep circling
The place I call home
I hear next we'll be training
How to plunge-dive
Mom is gonna show us
How to fold in our wings
Hit the water at high speed
Zeroing in on our catch
When I grow older
Things will change
I'll grow a head crest
It will make me so bold
When I grow older
I'll head out on my own
But I'll keep circling
The place I call home
Sometimes I just can't wait
I want to be just like all the adults
I dream of freedom
I dream of independence
Sometimes deep in my heart
I never want anything to change
When I grow older
Things will change
I'll grow a head crest
It will make me so bold
When I grow older
I'll head out on my own
But I'll keep circling
The place I call home
When I grow older
Things will change
I'll grow a head crest
It will make me so bold
When I grow older
I'll head out on my own
But I'll keep circling
The place I call home
