I plunge into the deepest depths
Of salty bliss and sweet caress
The briny current takes me to
Anemone beds of peaceful blue
I settle down on the cool sand
And drift away from the warring lands
The petty strife of men above
My new home fits me like a glove
The octopus arms come to greet me there
The suction cups comb through my hair
My sensations start to fall away like
Kelp forests in the current sway
The water feels so welcoming
A sense of ease like abyssal spring
I try to take the saline in
And thrust away with my fin
My catamaran is now a waste
The volcanic vents blow in my face
I slide into the murky dark and
Dive to greet the nursing sharks
I fancy me a fine meal
And good company that I could steal
As Neptune's court welcomes me
I shudder to think what I might be
