Jon the Journalist - Can't Speak Lyrics

Jon the Journalist - Can't Speak Lyrics

She was born a pleasant soul
Feeble though, body type like needle nose
Plyers, the desire in her eyes was like fire
I admired the disguise she was different
Her teddy bear brown eyes showed all the sad lies
She was trying to hide in the back of her dads ride
Crying to confide, but he always looked the other way
Trying to decide what to say was his alibi
She was a good girl growing up giving life a chance
But her mother passed and her plans would unravel fast
Travel dad blazing trails Keeping bills paid
All the hours worked, hurt in a real way
Raised by a sitter with a boyfriend who's the devil
Who would always sneak over and flexed ethics at a lower level
She was only ten when she first met him
Wish she never did it was something she regretted
When the babysitter would step out of the room
A dance with the devil would be forced too soon
She's a kid, you're a man, well ah, not really
You're a shell of a man, with a hell of a plan,
You'll ruin this girls life with those devilish hands
And he did, he did
Now the smile on this little girls faced disappeared
Used to be go lucky, now lived in fear
Used be so happy, now lived in tears
Used to be, just used to be
Now walks around, so aimlessly
That dark depression saying stay with me
And she listens, can't blame the victim
As the tear drop glistens down her cheek

Can't speak
Can't speak

And as the years past, it was still vivid
Her mind constantly racing a mile a minute
She took her damaged life and she tried to live it
It was too much to take
Everyday, too much to fake
Dad tried too much, too late
Now the self hate, self pity, self pain
Made it hard to take selfie like herself again
Made it hard to find a friend like a real friend
She was wondering if she'd ever feel again
Feeling boxed in like a meal plan
She was doing her best to console with the past
But the pain in her chest was too much to surpass
So she tips up her glass, drowns in a flask
Says if I never quit won't have to relapse
Her pain was like an empty garden ready for the flowers
But the rain wouldn't fall and the sunshine scattered
Hopeless, she tried to date
Figured it would bring her mind out this constant daze
Met a friend through friend and at first it was great
Ate lunch, shared laughs, she wasn't feelin' pain
His name was Mike, and he was in the right
When he went in for a kiss, but she gave him a bite
She was scared, nervous, impaired by the past
She Ran away fast, hasn't talked to Mike since
She kept on thinking that he wouldn't understand
What she needed now more than ever was her mother's hand
She was a plane crash on an island lost
But the flashbacks were like twice as rough
But just then when she thought that she was see through
She opened up IG saw hashtag me too
Regrew, it was a process but now she knew
Others out there suffer like she do
Regrouped, found power in the people and
Like the birds in the fields from the movie Forrest Gump she flew
Man she flew
Married Mike, it was magical night, right
Had two kids and ate dinners by candlelight every night
Every story has a different author
Not every pretty book gets to prosper
If you judge it by it's cover, it may never be discovered
I pray and hope all who suffer find a way to conquer
