Six o clock and the smile goes on as another shift begins
Another year's just passed her by, but she's not giving in
She's holding on to dreams she's planned
Oh she'll see them through one day
Now the kids are up and gone nothing to make her stay
She waits on the tables in the restaurant down the street
It ain't the job she dreamed about but it helps to make ends meet
She pours another coffee and the tip jar starts to grow
She calls that her running pot she dreams of where she'll go
She gets home ten minutes late and he's waiting by the door
Full of crazy questions she's heard them all before
The make up covers up the truth she says she tripped and fell
Her tears begin to fall again she's had enough of this hell
She waits on the tables in the restaurant down the street
It ain't the job she dreamed about but it helps to make ends meet
She pours another coffee and the tip jar starts to grow
She calls that her running pot she dreams of where she'll go
At the end of the show..... Oh - Oh - Oh - Oh - Oh
