Your daddy sits in his recliner
Wondering what this day will bring
Seems Like yesterday was better somehow
And today don't mean a thing
And as he sits in that recliner
And the past keeps rolling by
Lately he can't seem to figure out
If he should even try
Days keep passing by
And as he lives in that recliner he wonders
Should he even comb his hair
And as the people walk by his window does he really notice
He's not sure he's really there
And as he sits in that recliner
Will he finally figure out
Why the world just seems to spin and spin and turn and turn
What this life is all about
And he's thinking bout the choices that he made and maybe
And what we leave behind
And he wonders bout what's waiting for him past the next hill
And about what he might find
And what we leave behind
And so he sits in that recliner
And, in a flash, it all comes clear
And then he knows the answers to the questions he's been asking
And they erase all of his fears
And they give meaning to his tears
But there is no one there to hear
