I saw a blind guy out for a walk the other day
He made his way with the help of a long white cane
When it slipped off the curb, we were both horrified
He, because he's blind; me, because it looked like my life
I'm always slipping
Can't see what's coming my way
Don't want your assistance
But I could go another way
If you listen, you'll hear me waiting there
You can change direction on a dime
You'll hear the angels sing, and say your death-bed prayer
You won't be left alone, all in the nick of time
You never listen
Can't hear a word that I say
Don't want my assistance
But you could go another way
You walk alone
On and on won't heed my warnings
It eats you up
Every night then in the morning
So far, so good
Trying to wash away reminders
It's not, enough
Close your eyes, put on your blinders
So what, to do?
To keep at bay the mysteries
A heart made new,and free
Of what you refuse to feel and hear and see
Fool, it's only me
There was a moment when a God-man entered space and time
He wasn't here that long, he's mostly known because he died
But that didn't last 3 days, before he chose to rise
He chose to take it all, to let us all survive
And he said
I heal the deaf and blind
And you just look away
You don't want my assistance
But I am the only way
