Jalon Brown - Where Can You Run to When All Is Away? Lyrics

Jalon Brown - Where Can You Run to When All Is Away? Lyrics

Here's a story
For your ears only
That keeps me lonely
That sighs forlornly
That shows you for me
That dark and stormy
And most unholy
Inner inventory

A boy was young, and dumb, in love
With every thought he's thinking of
Swears he's not his father's son
But his fathers mind fits like a glove

One day he says, "I'm leaving town
I'm digging tunnels underground
Under the walls, leaves safe and sound
They won't catch up, won't bring me down"

And so he ran, out through the holes,
The closer to, more freedom pulled
They chased him down, and stole his bread
They stole his bag, couldn't take his head

He ran so fast, he broke the wall
The planes were wide, the grass was tall
He cried from joy, cried from despair
At his life so dark, and the freshest air

He considered all the ones he left
As he breathed in the air so fresh
He knew he was just fickle flesh
But he pushed through and did his best

The monsters came to prove him wrong
The days were bright, the night was long
He fought them off, he sang a song

"Are you receiving the things that I say?
Do you believe it could be another way?
Running from home is not an ideal way to thrive
Doesn't it seem relevant when it's your choice? Survive!"

Oh, hold his heart, and break it down
Oh, you should see that awful town
Oh tell me where, where should he go?
Do you believe in something slow?

"Are you receiving the things that I say?
Do you believe it could be another way?
Running from home is not an ideal way to thrive
Doesn't it seem relevant when it's your choice? Survive!"

"Are you receiving the things that I say?
Do you believe it could be another way?
Running from home is not an ideal way to thrive
Doesn't it seem relevant when it's your choice? Survive!"
