On another of my late night walks
Staring out at the posh hotels across the river
I don't wanna leave, I've so much to say
On the beach there's a man, he's picking up litter
Autumn came early, but it's still summer outside
The sun starts to shine as the leaves start to fall in my mind
They say cast off the shackles of work and enjoy your free time
But something comes creeping back in through the Maginot line
Oh no, it's just like before
Tall buildings fall back from the train-line
Should be better by now, but I'm not sure
I go up, I go down at the same time
Maybe I'll go mad and cut off my hair
To pay for a room in a cold flatshare
