There she was, standing in the forest
She'd been waiting up for me
She took my hand and lead me to a river
And said"daughter, go be free"
I stepped into the river and it swept me off my feet
And it took me to a new place where flesh and spirit meet
And I felt so many things for which I cannot find the words
But I'll never be the same because of what I saw and heard
She came again, laughing in the sunrise
And she seemed somehow to glow
She beckoned me out into the clearing
Then she started dancing slow
So I stepped out in the open and began to move my feet
And we spun up such a lovely storm, the thunder kept the beat
We laughed and cried and mused upon the mysteries of life
And I almost didn't notice how the heavy things turned light
She held a flame, flickering in bare hands
And she stood so close to me
She placed it in the center of my being
And said"daughter, you're like me"
And I knew this was the most important thing that I could know
I swore to keep the flame alive no matter where I go
In dancing through the world since then I move so differently
Than before the Mother came and sparked the flame of life in me
