Issues - Headspace Lyrics

The Realest

Another waste of headspace got dumb on the tracks never knew the facts 'til I wised up
For years I been toe to toe with the heavy weights, never thought I'd size up
It's got me thinking 'bout the rise up, you said no strings attached and now you got me tied up
You talking that shit, and you're blowing that smoke, but your card got declined at the night club

Every single pointless conversation, is breaking down the walls that kept the demons out
I try to find the signs that might reveal the secret to what we're missing,
but maybe time is all that we need now

A blessing in disguise, or just broke and pitiful,
I don't f*ck with these mind games babe,
but if one thing's right I saw with my own eyes

I know your tricks, don't act so proud, I'm moving up while you're slowing down

I own it now, you want it now, and you can put it down, but you're nothing but a waste of headspace

You're a waste of space in my head...
You're a waste of space in my head...

A blessing in disguise, or just broke and pitiful,
I don't f*ck with these mind games babe,
but if one thing's right I saw with my own eyes
A blessing in disguise, or just broke and pitiful,
I don't f*ck with these mind games babe,
but if one thing's right I saw with my own eyes

You're a waste of space in my head...
You're a waste of space in my head...

I try to find the signs...
Another waste of headspace

You're a waste of space in my head

Home Soon

You've grown irrational
I'm too selfish to let myself flourish
Stuck at the bottom yeah
But I'm fine with where my whole world is

I'd like to think that my body's out there somewhere
Alive and breathing
But my soul is a race and you envy the pace
Of this life I'm leading

Be a little stronger in your mind
You can hold the weight of time

I try making it easy on you
What more can I say or do
You only see half of what's there
Just hold on, you know me better
Highway love's gonna mess me up
Nights like these when I need your touch
Kicking it high in the back of my bus
Thinking bout you, while you're thinking bout trust
I'll be home soon

Throwing names and drawing lines
Impossible when you mix your jealousy with mine
I'm on the phone and you're hating me
There's a million bottles and I'm trying to free
My head of all this chaos
There's a hook but you don't let me off

You don't take my word for an answer
It's hard to chose from the life I live
And the one I love either way I'll lose
I know you're gonna use this against me
I'm stuck with the burden, you're stuck with the envy

Be a little stronger in your mind
You can hold the weight of time
And if I'm holding you back let me know
What's complicated should be so simple

I try making it easy on you
What more can I say or do
You only see half of what's there
Just hold on, you know me better
Highway love's gonna mess me up
Nights like these when I need your touch
Kicking it high in the back of my bus
Thinking bout you, while you're thinking bout trust
I'll be home soon

West coast days go by so damn slow
Caught up in the star glow
Your intuition's problematic
When I just wanna lose myself in the city of angels
I'm thrown

I try making it easy on you
What more can I say or do
You only see half of what's there
Just hold on, you know me better
Highway love's gonna mess me up
Nights like these when I need your touch
Kicking it high in the back of my bus
Thinking bout you, while you're thinking bout trust
I'll be home soon

Lost-N-Found (On A Roll)

Lost and found
I found myself
In a hopeful place
In a hopeless state
And I crossed the line between what's wrong and right-fully so
I gave my dignity to make it on my own

Abandonment adopted me
When being true to myself did all but set me free
Birth giver, tell me how could you give
Your offspring to the darkness you've been hiding in

I spend my days fighting off my bad luck
If these streets could talk I'd conversate
And they'd tell me to stay up

Ay sleepwalker tell me where have you been
All of my life, I've been trying to fit in
I've been talking to walls
Feeling my heart rate
Feeling so small
This world is a big place
And I ain't got nowhere to go, so take me on a roll

At my lowest, means hit the ends and I'm so ashamed
Sinking further into sorrow and regret
I've paved my way through a maze I'll never complete
I can't see the sun from how dark it's gotten impossible to dig out

I spend my days fighting off my bad luck
If these streets could talk I'd conversate
And they'd tell me to stay up

Ay sleepwalker tell me where have you been
All of my life, I've been trying to fit in
I've been talking to the walls
Feeling my heart rate
Feeling so small
This world is a big place
And I ain't got nowhere to go, so take me on a roll

I found myself inside
A self created bliss
And now I'm more alive
Than I have ever been
I spare no expense
Shit, I ain't even got none to spend

Ay sleepwalker tell me where have you been
All of my life, I've been trying to fit in
I've been talking to the walls
Feeling my heart rate
Feeling so small
This world is a big place
And I ain't got nowhere to go, so take me on a roll

Yung & Dum

Living the dream
Living the lifestyle that we want
Not a damn thing gonna change me
I'll tell 'em where I'm from
We're all young and dumb
Running wild through the streetlight
Like we could fly when the time's right
Before you know it, it'll pass by
I'd give anything for a minute back
Then it was midnight
We were speeding with the top down
Disturbing the peace like we ain't got none
Our minds were stuck on getting older but we found out
The music dies when you forget how to turn it up loud
Living the dream
Living the lifestyle that we want
Not a damn thing gonna change me
I'll tell 'em where I'm from
We're all young and dumb
Throw your hands in the air
Go stupid like you just don't care
The best part of being young
Is when you make a mess you never clean it up
Tomorrow's another day
We'll be burning rubber on the asphalt
Reminiscing all the times we never got caught
We got the world at our fingertips now
These idle hands only know how to turn it up loud
Living the dream
Living the lifestyle that we want
Not a damn thing gonna change me
I'll tell 'em where I'm from
We're all young and dumb
All we have is the good times
And all we need is the moonlight
Got the stars in our young eyes
Living the dream
Living the lifestyle that we want
Not a damn thing gonna change me
I'll tell 'em where I'm from
We're all young and dumb

Made To Last

Do you ever look back
And no one's there
I feel thunder
I won't pretend you're not
Shaking up my world

No I took you for granted
But now I see
So let me be the man I know I can be

I've been changing
Can't believe how long that I've been waiting
After every single dream has faded
I can bring them back to you
Hearts done breaking
I promise I'm a risk worth taking
This time it won't be complicated
Cause all I want is you
We were made to last

Do you ever ponder
The sparks we had
No explanation
Just two madly in love wild cards
Playing against the odds

No I took you for granted
But now I see
So let me be the man I know I can be

I've been changing
Can't believe how long that I've been waiting
After every single dream has faded
I can bring them back to you
Hearts done breaking
I promise I'm a risk worth taking
This time it won't be complicated
Cause all I want is you
We were made to last

I paid for all my mistakes
And I know you suffered all I can say
We were made to last
Come back to me

I've been changing
Can't believe how long that I've been waiting
After every single dream has faded
I can bring them back to you
Hearts done breaking
I promise I'm a risk worth taking
This time it won't be complicated
Cause all I want is you
We were made to last
Come back to me

Flojo

Once I was molded by the cruelest intentions
I remember the days, I would justify all the speculation

And if you're gonna plant a rose expect some weeds to grow
And if you ever get that far everyone's a critic of your every move
I used to find time to be defined by the public eye
F*ck it, I rose above it

In a mental prison
Searching for my big break
I need less attention
On all of my mistakes
What if I gave it up
And they'd stop trippin'
All the doing dirt gone in a minute
Just my luck
It makes no difference
Cause all the while I'm blind
I'm doin' fine

I walked the walk and earned something
If you quit the talk, you might f*ckin' learn something
I grew up a f*ckin' screw up
Got disrespect from the cliques
All the kids I f*ckin' knew of
I used to find time to be defined by the public eye
F*ck it, I rose above it

And if you're gonna plant a rose expect some weeds to grow
And if you ever get that far everyone's a critic of your every move

In a mental prison
Searching for my big break
I need less attention
On all of my mistakes
What if I gave it up
And they'd stop trippin'
All the doing dirt gone in a minute
Just my luck
It makes no difference
Cause all the while I'm blind
I'm doin' fine

Success is a two way street
And you never wanna meet halfway
So we can share this victory
When I said success I meant love
Through all of the hate I must've forgot what it was
Trying my best to be impartial to the bullshit
But nowadays love is blind
I'd like to think we doin' fine

I fell victim and I caved in to a flawed perspective
Had it stuck in my mind, tried hard to cut the ties
I fell victim to what
I bet the whole world was concerned with
You'll never know what it's like

Unless I give it up
And they stop trippin'
All the doing dirt gone in a minute
Just my luck
It makes no difference
Cause all the while I'm blind
What if I gave it up
And they'd stop bitchin'
All the doing dirt gone in a minute
Just my luck
It makes no difference
Cause all the while I'm blind
I'm doin' fine

Hero

I never said I was your goddamn superman
Late at night, sittin' up in my room
Sippin' on adrenaline and pacing over you
Lately you hate what I say
But you can't hate me to my face
I'm for real, just call it like I see
Obsessed and possessive
You don't know true shit about me
There's a temper in your tone
That mouth left you on your own
Fake, fake it till you make
Enough to buy some faith from who
Is dumb enough to pray to you
Hero, hero
Everybody just want a payroll
If the price is right, they might be your
Hero, hero
Pray to these fake relatable gods
Pay them for attention till they get off
Fake, fake it till you make
Enough to buy some faith from who
Is dumb enough to pray to you
Hero, hero
Everybody just want a payroll
If the price is right, they might be your

COMA

Everybody needs lovin' sometimes
Physical emotion, alright, babe
To see your face light up
Would give me nothin' but bliss
And when I start showin' off
I'd never know how to quit
Say something, I'm not giving up on you
I'll stay as long as I need to
I wanna be all you think about
Anything and everything you dream about
As if I had it all figured out
I wanna be the one you can't breathe without
It might be hard to play it cool
'Cause I know that's not what gentlemen do, yeah yeah
When I'm hurting just to know you're fighting
Listen to me reminiscing and let love guide you, woah
Say something, I've got a lot to lose
Odds say that you're not gonna pull through
I wanna be all you think about
Anything and everything you dream about
As if I had it all figured out
I wanna be the one you can't breathe without
If you could open your eyes
I don't know where you are
In your mind, but listen to your soul
Trying to find its way back to your heart
From the car to the ER
Just think of me and pull yourself back to creation
I wanna be all you think about
Anything and everything you dream about
As if I had it all figured out
I wanna be the one you can't breathe without
If you could open your eyes

Rank Rider

Dear Johns and alcohol
Cheap shots you knock me out so cold
It's not worth it no, you're not worth it

I'm so ashamed
That I shower you with gifts
But I don't get back what I give
My two cents ain't worth the change
Your selfish got me feeling some type of way

So correct me if I'm wrong
Your life is a sad song
Ravel couldn't compose the mess God made on you
Animalistic, material instinct
Driving Jody's Ferrari
Tag chaser en route

My heart strings are tangled in you
You treat me like I'm your little marionette
Your type is a common breed
You're all so small but you think that you're as good as it gets

Dear Johns and alcohol
Cheap shots you knock me out so cold
It's not worth it no, you're not worth it
You only call when I wanna pay
Maxed out plastic, guess you'll be on your way
It's not worth it no, you're not worth it
It's not worth it, I ain't got time for that
Ain't nobody got time for that

I'm out here and bombs are flying
Still you drop bombs on me like this baby
I been crazy but you got me tripping with a rhythm
Like where have you been lately

You're wasting my time, and I don't have much to fill it
In the desert heat on my grind while you're wasting my skrilla
I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind, I'm paying your bills
While you're gold digging civilians just for the kill

Dear Johns and alcohol
Cheap shots you knock me out so cold
It's not worth it no, you're not worth it
You only call when I wanna pay
Maxed out plastic, guess you'll be on your way
It's not worth it no, you're not worth it
It's not worth it, I ain't got time for that
Ain't nobody got time for that

Blue Wall

[Verse 1: Tyler Carter]
Easily temperamental
Dangerously equipped
Impossibly avoidable
By proving their contempt
Bastardizing the justice
And living above the law
Black and blue don't get along
Blue just want em dead and gone

[Hook: Michael Bohn]
Empty your clips on the victim
And then you look the other way
Your nation will crumble
And you'll just look the other way

[Verse 2: Tyler Carter]
Got a hood rat and the alley cat heard
The city got a kid hesitating to leave work
At the right time in the wrong place got served
An extendo not a miranda head first

[Bridge 1: Michael Bohn]
Get down, already knocked out face on the ground
We're at war with the ones who protect and serve

[Hook 2: Michael Bohn and Tyler Carter]
Empty your clips on the victim
And then you look the other way
Minorities parish
And even tho he got his hands up

[Bridge 2: Michael Bohn]
Caged like animals
Wound up and released with their badges
Brutalize our streets, savages
How many have to die
To put an end to crooked swine

[Hook 3: AJ Rebollo]
And you just look the other way
Empty your clips on the victim
And then you look the other way
Your nation will crumble
And you just look the other way

[Outro: Michael Bohn]
They will not fear the system anymore
They will not cower like they did before
This cannot be ignored
The machine will not hold us down

Someone Who Does

Hopeless, just a kid with a craving
To make memories with my father
It's taken a lifetime to chase 'em
That's why I seem to reserve this space in my head
For the grudges of all the nights you didn't tuck us into bed
Never showing up to my games
Never taking us to arcades
Seems like nothing has changed
When you don't show up for my shows
But straight up wait till the day of
To tell me that you can't make it
So I hit the stage and it's raining
I'm a man no thanks to you Dad
You're so quick to move on
What about the ones you left behind
How am I supposed to be strong
When you're the weak one
I've had so much I could say to you
But you'll never get the chance to know me
It's all I've ever asked for
I've had this craving to be close to you
But you'll never get the chance to know me
It's all I've asked for
Selfless, a mother who wouldn't eat
Just so we could have the money to keep up the same routines
She got a new job, and a new house, and a new life, and a new love
So next time you call we probably won't pick up no
I see visions of a perfect family
And what the f*ck that even means
Then I see the way you sacrifice
Everything for everyone except me
You're so quick to move on
What about the ones you left behind
How am I supposed to be strong
You're the weak one
I've had so much I could say to you
But you'll never get the chance to know me
It's all I've ever asked for
I've had this craving to be close to you
But you'll never get the chance to know me
It's all I've asked for
Tell me bout how
You're so damn proud
I know you love me
But you gotta leave now
Nah, you don't care about us
Tell me how the hell you sleep at night
I hope your new life is worth the sacrifice
You don't care bout us
But I know someone who does
I know someone who does
I have so much I could say to you
But you'll never get the chance to know me
It's all I've ever asked for
I've had this craving to be close to you

Slow Me Down

Somehow I always knew
I'd bite the curb out spills the proof
The letter in your pocket now I can't escape the truth
Surprises so violent stop with the silence
Who is she to you

Tell me why tell me why my whole world's starting to shake
Cause ain't nobody ever tell you what it feels like when you're bout to break
I get nervous, tell me what's her name
I see a lot of missed calls and now I'm going off
Don't tell me it's ok
A storm is swallowing this interstate
When it rains it pours and the pain is coming in waves
Stay surfaced, love can't hold you down
So I will drive

Slow me down
I'm burning out of control
So far from heaven now
(Pull me back)
Slow me down
It's like you've stolen my soul
So far from heaven now

I can't stand that streetlight, I'm rolling out of bed
Again I belong to the night, I'm a mess
Pull me over, I can't forget her name
Or my urge to put this barrel to your face
This storm is swallowing my sanity
And all our memories are tainted with her cheap perfume
Eighteen years thrown away in a day
Somebody stop me now, before I get to you

Slow me down
I'm burning out of control
So far from heaven now
(Pull me back)
Slow me down
It's like you've stolen my soul
So far from heaven now

My son, I gotta thank you for calling
Not sure who I would be if you stopped looking out for me
(You stopped looking out for me)
Somehow I always knew
Let me know when I need to
Slow you down, you're burning out of control
So far from heaven now

Slow me down
I'm burning out of control
So far from heaven now
(Pull me back)
Slow me down
It's like you've stolen my soul
So far from heaven now

You've got to slow me down
I'm burning out of control
So far from heaven now
(Pull me back)
Slow me down
It's like you've stolen my soul
So far from heaven now

Headspace is the second studio album by American metalcore band Issues. Released on May 20, 2016 on Rise Records, the band recruited Kris Crummett once more to produce the album. It is their final studio album to feature original member and co-vocalist Michael Bohn before his departure in January 2018, and is their first release since the departure of keyboardist and disc jockey Tyler "Scout" Acord. Despite this, Acord performs synthesizers and production on the album, and appears in the music video for its first single "The Realest". The album showcases the group's experimental approach to their signature metalcore-contemporary R&B hybrid sound, exploring elements of nu metal, pop, hip hop and funk.

The album was supported by three singles; "The Realest", "COMA" and "Home Soon". In support of the album, the group toured with Volumes, from September to November 2017. They also performed on the Vans Warped Tour in 2016 and 2018.
