Humble - End of the Line Lyrics

Humble - End of the Line Lyrics

I wake up with a shortage of breath
And all my sweat has gone cold
The demons awake in the night
When the rest of the world is at home
I'm confined within these four walls
Alone, and I'm stuck in my thoughts
And I can't see a thing
But my shadow, it's hanging from the ceiling
I guess that I lost
Losing life is a tragedy, but living this life is a travesty
People gave up all modesty, and when I try to bring it back
They don't want the thing
They'd rather have their name brand clothes and such
I'll make a million dollars, but I'll never switch
Work so much to have my name on the Forbes list
But even at that point am I truly rich?

Money isn't everything
It doesn't make you who you are
I could be wearing a thousand dollar shirt
But the person beneath is more important than what you see

I saw a lonely man on the screen
A shadow of himself, and his life of dreams
Got a million dollars, and he's slowly dying
Not a single person to stand beside him
He's too far gone, can't correct the past
All of his mistakes were made to last
Sacrificed so much to end up last
Now it's the end of the line, his regret is maxed
But, did he live it right?
It's the one and only question he asked that night
Didn't find an answer, no where in sight
He gave it all up for his hopes in life
Achieved all he wanted, but it never mattered
In the end of this life, nothing stays after
Six feet deep in a cheap casket
The way we all go, except for those in ashes
