I guess I need a few new habits
A little self work
It's really been awhile since I put myself first
I need a change of pace
A break from the race
Cause I'll be burning out quick if I keep running at this rate
My inner youth is crying out, I hear 'em loud and clear
I've been asleep at the wheel, being driven by my fears
And all this stress that I've been carrying got me feeling like I'm burying myself
In a sea of worries for my mental health
But lately, it seems to me
That all these worries do is feed
A perpetual cycle of cyclical symptoms that are never as they seem to be
And I could sit around all day
Bitch about the past
But the healing doesn't start until I get up off my ass
And walk through the door
I'm ready to explore
A whole new world outside of what i call the norm
Im not gonna sit and wait for the day
For all my problems to go away
Gonna be the change that I need to see
Gonna find inner peace and it starts with just
A few new habits
A little self work
It's really been awhile since I put myself first
I need a change of pace
A break from the race
Cause I'll be burning out quick if I keep running at this rate
I need a few new habits
A little self work
It's really been awhile since I put myself first
I need a change of pace
A break from the race
Cause I'll be burning out quick if I keep running at this rate
Working, serving, grinding has a place and a time
But there comes a point along the path where you got to draw the line
Please don't lose yourself in trying to please everybody else
Turn that focus to yourself because your healths your greatest wealth
I'm not saying to be lazy
Just saying take some time to rest and assess and address these issues running through your mind
Please don't get yourself down, got to give yourself some credit
Just look how far you've come despite how youve been messed with
You've been tossed around like a merry-go-round but it's time to find some solid ground
The past is the past and it's showing you that these moments in time will never last
So please remember to find your center
You'd be surprised how time in silence can open up your eyes and make you feel better
If you change your mind you'll change your life
And walk through the door
You're ready to explore
A whole new world outside of what you call the norm
You're not gonna sit and wait for the day
For all of your problems to go away
Gonna be the change that you need to see
Gonna find inner peace and it starts with just
A few new habits
A little self work
It's really been awhile since I put myself first
I need a change of pace

I need a few new habits
A little self work
It's really been awhile since I put myself first
I need a change of pace
A break from the race
Cause I'll be burning out quick if I keep running at this rate
I got a drinking problem, I should probably quit
But I don't know how to solve 'em, at the end of my wits
You can find me at the bottom with an itch I need to fix
I got a weight on my shoulders, you'll find the devil where it sits
My coping mechanism is a guitar and a rhythm
And rejection is the fuel that creates my words of wisdom
When the light starts to dim, and the darkness starts to creep
At lease I'll have my family and dignity to keep so I
Walk through the door
We're ready to explore
A whole new world outside of what we call the norm
Not gonna sit and wait for the day for all our problems to go away
Gonna be that change that we need to see
Gonna find inner peace and it starts with just
A few new habits
A little self work
It's really been awhile since I put myself first
I need a change of pace
A break from the race
