Herald's Goose - Bird Dad's Recompense (feat. Jimmy) Lyrics

Hello there I heard you like hats
I suppose I do
That's splendid
Uh

When it comes to birds what kind do you consider yourself
Crow maybe
Ah the bringer of death I see
Uh sure
Never more Leanore
That's a raven
However it should have been a crow
I like it as a raven
Me too but it should have been a crow
But nevermind

Once upon a midnight dreary while I pondered weak and weary
Don't start this
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore
While I nodded nearly napping suddenly there came a tapping
As if someone gently rapping
Rapping on my chamber door
I'm just going to let you go
Don't do it please

I think I'm a raven
I guess that makes sense
Did you know crows ravens and blackbirds
Are all signs of good passage and protection as well as death
I did not know that
If a bird follows you it wants to protect you
Is there a point here

Seven years ago I met a bird
I've met many birds
Well this bird wasn't just a bird
Was it a blackbird or a black bird
It was a vivid indigo slash black
Okay
The bird spoke to me in a deep tone
That seems unlikely
Oh but it happened
Did it now
Yes it did would you like to know what he said

It is I birdface I've roamed this Earth for centuries
Looking for the perfect specimen for my personal projects
It appears you will do perfectly
Would you like to come with me to my lab

Oh I guess that's cool
Indeed and I only did what was natural
Considering it was a talking bird with promise for death
Punt it into next week
No that would have been crazy
Instead I lifted my arms up and let the winds carry me
Three weeks into the future
The day that I had lived to see tomorrow
The day that I ended up gaining 5 extra limbs
And that was when I opened my eyes
And saw the bird was actually my father
That had been caring for me all throughout my life
Such as those time that he killed my secret attackers
That were planning to attack me from the South when I was heading North
And that's when I embraced the bird
The bird started to cry tears of happiness
It was reunited with its human son
I was reunited with my bird dad
And then the bird exploded because I hugged it too tightly

Rest in peace bird dad beloved bird and dad
Nine fifty-four am to nine fifty-six am
Then I was taken back into the past but also original present time
And I saw the bird waiting for my response
To his suggestion of going back to the lab and I answered yes
Wait the bird was two minutes old
Bird time is wacky
Two minutes in their time is like four hundred centuries in human years
I don't think that's true and you hugged it to death
But I hugged it to death in the future
Two minutes into the future
Nope three weeks into the future
The bird doesn't yet exist
No the bird exists but not in our time
He died seven years ago and after I met him
He lasted for three more weeks before he died

Let's move on what was birdface's lab like
Birdface uh Bird Dad had lifted me onto his tiny back
And he flew towards the smallest mountain in the range
The one with the gigantic atomic bomb hanging over it
And he took me into the secret passage
That was in the underside of the mountain
Entering the lab there were plenty of bright lights
That symbolized a certain figure
Something I couldn't quite think of
But there was familiarity in that symbol
I recognized it somehow I took one final glance at the lights
Before I was hit in the head and my lights when out
I was unconscious
