This American flag
Bleached white and burning
Hanging upside down in distress
But nobody's learning
The gears keep turning
(The rich keep earning)
How are we so hypnotized
By parlor tricks
These naked, rat-faced lies
And we're still surprised
When all we get
Is just the same as every other snake we've met
We must have known
We should have seen
Just how broken we had really come to be
Just how broken we had really always been
Living in a fantasy
Where the other is your enemy
For what
How much should your freedom cost
Another hundred children lost
How much
Can't we see the difference
Between the truth and the special interests
Between the price of mere existence
And the cost of true resistance
Aren't you supposed to vote your conscious
Is this all our civic duty bought us
We refuse
To be abused
This American man
Pilled up and praying
Doubled down on all his debt
And he can't keep paying
He's tired of breaking
(He's tired of faking)
Convinced that he's the victim of
A system built for no one else but him
He'll never win
Aren't you supposed to vote your conscious
Is this all our civic duty bought us
Well I refuse
To be abused
