Two souls, orbiting each other
They're the same
In a strange way
Carved from one piece of
Celestial driftwood
Over too many lifetimes
Like something from a dream
Collecting dents and scratches
Patches of moss
Carved lettering
Like those little initials inside of hearts
That people scratch into trees
Except one pair of initials
Is carved into the first soul
And the other
Into the second
But, that carving has
Always been there
And with it
A constant, never-ending
Feeling
As if the empty space in those grooves
Was meant to be filled
By some thing
Or someone
And they don't realize that
As they get older and wiser
They get bigger and bigger
Their gravitational pull gets stronger
And they start to attract each other
Slowly
At first
Like twin stars
They circle around a fixed point
What's at the center
I don't know
But the attraction it takes
To keep two stars spinning
Around one point
Honestly
I can't even imagine it
And as they circle closer and closer
They spin faster and faster
Until they collide in the middle
A cosmic explosion
Melting together
Into one sun
Shooting sparks in every direction
And lighting up the darkness of the universe
And from the pieces
That chip off them
New lights might form
New stars might form
New souls might form
Which then start their own dance
And in that way
Everything
Dances in creation
Shiva dances
Creating the universe
And from Himself
He creates little dancers
Who are fully him
And in a universe
That sometimes feels
So cold
So dark
And so empty
It's nice to know
That what looks like chaos
Is actually a dance
And we're not dancing alone
We're dancing around each other
Balls of light
And fire
And life
Spinning faster and faster and faster
Until they meet
Two souls, orbiting each other
They're the same
In a strange way
Carved from one piece of
Celestial driftwood
Over too many lifetimes
Like something from a dream
But every piece driftwood
Eventually finds its way to shore
So there they lie
On the beach
Together
Their carvings
Finally lining up
