Rainbows in windows line the pavements on the roadside,
And flowers grow on gravestones where the sun it keeps on shining
We lie awake in darkness to the sound of distant sirens
Take solace in best wishes and hope for blessed fortunes
Will it be long till we hold each other again?
No cries of grief or torment can turn the tides of passing days.
Will children play in gardens haunted by their absent mothers?
So silent are the streets at night, and quieter by the day are the the voices of each other - we're all so far away
