Frozen tundra is vast and desolate
As far as I can see, snow white and glistening
Frigid, the air chills me to the core
Gusts of wind pierce the layers that I wear
Frigid
Ruthless
Cold Air
Burrow for shelter, teeth chatter as I dig
Lurking and waiting, the cold, dark night approaches
Listen for noises, or signs of danger near
Keenly I look out, staying on high alert
Stay awake on high alert
Look out, keep still
Eyes are peeled bright peering out
My nerves heighten
No movement on the surface
I'm scared of what I can't see
Once and for all I dig deeper
Fall into peaceful sleep.
