Life was better when we were all growing up
No one was robbing we were just pouring up
Getting drunk on weekends, playing soccer on weekdays
No one knew life would ever be this way
No one knew some of them would ever switch lanes
Alotta niggas I knew in the hood changed
For me to accept it really took days
It was almost a year I'm not talking few days
The same niggas I played cops and robbers with are gangsters now
I chose a different route
Look at me I'm a rapper now
Some of them really had no choice
They all had matric but never employed
Some of them lost they parents at a young age
So they doing all they can just to get paid
And the rest had opportunities after high school but they chose to go to school high
To be honest I'm not fond with they new lives
When I ask them why they did it everyday they telling new lies
Lemme take you down to memory lane
Remember back in those days
When we were dreaming big saying our taxi gon be a plane
Those were the days where everybody saw a better place
Everybody just wanted to make a change
I still cannot believe y'all just threw it all away
The dumpster in the hood is full of dreams it makes me sad
Everybody acting like they never cared
Man life ain't fare
Some people pray but they feel like God ain't there
Don't worry bout it keep on praying nigga God has a plan he's there ,he never left
