The Fires that burnt
Are but embers now
Too low to grant the vision
And clarity of thought
Synaptic powers
Crushed to brittle branches
Feeble are the thoughts
That once sped through these halls
Thoughts that flew so bright
Remember me
Remember all I was
These thoughts lit
The memory of times
Both glorious and righteous
But dark and corrupt
A piteous cry
Spews from the depths
Bereft of force and twisted
Twisted by decay
Remember me
Remember all I was
Wanting everything to pass
Unhindered from my sight
Feeling the lethargy of death
As he settles down beside me
Knowing this moment is but
The beginning of A New Dawn
Knowing all is not yet lost
As you breath in the fresh and cold air
Feeling a sense of peace as you cry out
To the heavens for this chance to live again
Wanting nothing more than to feel alive
