Gerardo Coronel (nickname "El Jerry") is a corrido and alterna movimiento singer/songwriter who first made his mark at the age of 14 for the single "El Guerrero" and for composing the hit corrido "La Tacoma," recorded by El Kommander, Julian Mercado, and El Bebeto.
His debut long-player, El Jerry, appeared in 2017, followed by Hombres Como Yo in 2019. Coronel released a slew of live albums, too, including that year's De Lujo en Vivo. 2020's Unas Mias y Otras Prestadas was followed by a second volume in 2022.
To celebrate his success north of the border, the live En Vivo Desde Los Angeles album followed that year. Coronel issued the Joey Balderrama-directed video for "Soy Poco Malo" in early 2017 -- he was backed on the cut by Banda La Fantastica. The track ran up the video charts as the pre-release single for his second studio album, El Jerry, issued later in the year.
After many releases, another ten singles were released during 2021, including the charting "Te Deseo Lo Mejor" with Pancho Barraza.
The following year, the songwriter released El Jerry 2022 in addition to a live album and 23 singles! 2023 was a very successful year for Coronel as well.
The singer kicked off 2024 as a featured collaborator with Cuisillos on the charting "Al Menos Indicado." He hit the charts again with his own "Tutorial Para Olvidar" and released CHSM El Higados X2.
