The Music Started When I Saw Your Face

I was living like a Gypsy early in my life
In each new place I started from behind
By the time I finally made a friend, it was time to move on
And I never really felt like I belonged
After a lifetime of wandering, from place to place
And disappearing from my past without a trace
My heart was empty, hanging over my life like a cloud
I wore the silence in my soul just like a shroud
In all my travels, there weren't many friends I found
A piece of me was missing, before you came around
Possibilities escaped me, my expectations were pretty low
And I pulled away when someone got too close
But the moment that you came, I was suddenly awake
And I could feel the emptiness, start to fade
After all my years of silence, my song was finally played
The music started, when I saw your face
In all my travels, there weren't many friends I found
A piece of me was missing, before you came around
Possibilities escaped me, my expectations were pretty low
And I pulled away when someone got too close
