Survival By Faith

I found an old picture, just the other day
And it got me thinking 'bout how we used to be
We were happy, full of hope, we were making our plans
We couldn't wait to go chasing our dreams
Our future looked bright, nothing could stand in our way
Our burning desire, was like an eternal flame
But in this life we're-not always the lucky ones
When you feel misfortune's coming at you in waves
Things come along, and things go away
You may feel like giving in to your pain
Just look out on the horizon
There's a rainbow wherever it rains
Just put it all in his hands, 'cause it's survival by faith
I thought it would be us, sitting by the lake
Watching the evening sun fade away
I thought it would be us, walking on the beach
Enjoying the life that we made
We chased our dreams for this life with abandon
We couldn't know what was lying in wait
But here we are now, on a road that we didn't take
But in this life we're-not always the lucky ones
When you feel misfortune's coming at you in waves
Things come along, and things go away
You may feel like giving in to your pain
Just look out on the horizon
There's a rainbow wherever it rains
Just put it all in his hands, 'cause it's survival by faith
