If I gave you the world in a nutshell
Would you throw it to the squirrels
Or bend down
Hide it in the ground
Or would you put it in your pocket
And carry it around
If I showed you my world through a keyhole
Would you try to snatch the key
Open the door
Start to explore
Or would you stay outside and wait
Till I open the gate
A taste of everything, a meal of nothing.
We feed on samples, crumbs and nothing more
Words half spoken, thoughts half thought
Always hungry, always longing for more
If I gave you the world in a candy
And let it dangle in front of your mouth
If it smelt so sweet
Like your favourite treat
Would it be fair to tell you not to eat?
