She yells all men are dogs
But instead of being the female version
She uses kitty cat to keep'em
Coming back and purring
No kiddin'
At the same time
She's not afraid to ask them
"What are we?"
Cause her time is precious
And so are her dreams
She know what she wants
But not what she needs
Her family say she picky
She know these words birth from envy
Though she
Don't realize her obsession with perfection
Is an affliction of the actions from her parents
She never received attention or affection
Unless there was nothing missing
She wants a partner not a savior
But how can you trust someone's word
When their love language is manipulation?
Wounds on her heart beat and scar tissue
She never had the space to wipe her tears with
In time
She focuses on being more self-ish
Like who are you when your palm ain't reaching for someone elses?
Then she meets a healing guy who gas her up
Instead of leaving her gaslit
Emotionally
Neither one of them are ready for a relationship
But maybe
It's okay to have a friend that you can relate with
Now today growing to love herself again
Sunshine paints a smile from within
And with a grin
Unable to hide this feeling
She goes and tells her friends
'I'm a 10 but I'm healing'
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
He a 10 but he healing
I hope I don't hurt his feelings
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
Yes I'm a 10 but I'm healing
He a 10 but he healing
I hope he don't hurt my feelings
Down on his luck
Can't catch a break unless it's break up
And now his mental health is starting to spiral
When they broke up
All their mutual friends took her side so
He avoiding mirrors,
Memories and therapy
You know
All types of self-reflection
Only get things off his chest when
He hits the gym
Whether it's under barbell or getting understood by bartenders
His heart
Is covered in contusions
Cardiac concussions
Can't blame him for his confusion
Cause his time is precious
And so are his dreams
He know what he wants
But not what he needs
He never learned to love Love
Believing it's just a heart wanting an orgasm
He fails to see that some of this
Stems from him being taught to relate a man's success
With external validation and the numbers in his sheets
Carrying pain so well for so long he tends to fumble peace
Wouldn't know what to do with a green flag if it was ever shown
He really just needs a safe place for his thoughts to unfold
But after spending time single he learns
From constantly shadowboxing his demons
To reflect on what might be bringing them
And soon after that he meets a healing woman
Who sees his vulnerability as strength
They have a spark but they're afraid to get burned with it
He's growing to love himself again
Rain clears his tears
Unable to hide this feeling
He goes and tells his friends
'I'm a 10 but I'm healing'
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
She a 10 but she healing
I hope I don't hurt her feelings
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
I'm a 10 but I'm healing
She a 10 but she healing
I hope she don't hurt my feelings
All right now
I got this part right here
And I want y'all to repeat after me
We gon' rock
We gon' vibe
And it's just gon' feel good
All right let's get it

Say I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(You better go'on now)
Yes I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(You better own that)
I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(Ain't nothing wrong with that)
Yes I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(You feel like home now)
I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(You better go'on now)
Yes I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(And better own that)
I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(Ain't nothing wrong with that)
Yes I'm a 10 and I'm healing!
(You feel like home now)
Yeah
See you ain't gotta hurt nobody just to heal yourself
Take your time
And if you made it this far into the poem
I hope you know
You are beautiful
I just hope that you actually believe that
You feel like
