Shadow talk
Fred Boutin
Again that guy on the street tonight
Facing the wall, talking softly
His world of bright yellow and red
Reflected black on the brick shed
He stayed there 1 hour or so
Mumbling away
With long pauses and broken silences
Trying to catch the falling words
Do you undertand?
Do you understand me?
Does it make sens?
Does it make sens to you?
Some ideas are so fragile
Even words frighten them
Hesitation, reconsideration
Finally, not saying a thing
I looked straight into his eyes and nod
Someday, the shadow on the wall
Looks so real to me too
I got so bored, so angry, i quit
I gave up on him finally
I did grab my phone and vanished behind the screen
It was easy
Nothing like being entertained
To chase the doubts
