FIGS - Half n' Half Lyrics
Official

Kenny was delivered in an Illinois storm
And he grew about as crazy as the day he was born
There was fire in the child that only his parents saw
It wasn't very long before the whole town knew
If trouble came along, then Kenny came too
They were holdin' out hope he'd cotton to the law
A bit of old religion, a bit of north tea
All he needed was a kettle with some water and leaves
Oh he added nothin' to it and called it The Christian Way
The preacher couldn't change him, maybe nobody could
But his daddy was a deacon and a man of the woods
Said, son, you'll find a woman to straighten you out someday
Well, Kenny moved south and he met the one
The Midwest lost its favorite son
Cause that crazy kid calls Carolina home
Well, he liked it plain, but she liked it sweet
So they settled somewhere in between
Oh they mixed it up and called it half n' half
Well, Kenny settled down, had a couple of kids
Had a blonde-haired maniac just like him
He knew his mom was laughin' cause she prayed this day would come
He told the boy a story how Illinois shame
Met a grace as sweet as summer rain
And he said, boy, don't forget where you came from
Cause Kenny moved south and he met the one
The Midwest lost its favorite son
Cause that crazy kid calls Carolina home
Well, he liked it plain, but she liked it sweet
So they settled somewhere in between
Oh they mixed it up and called it half n' half
Well, the boy moved north and he found a wife
The mountains shook, Carolina cried
If you live close by, you'll hear James Taylor sing
But the people up here treat me nice
And I can't drive far cause the roads are ice
So I guess for now just call me half n' half
Cause Kenny moved south and he met the one
The Midwest lost its favorite son
Cause that crazy kid calls Carolina home
Well, he liked it plain, but she liked it sweet
So they settled somewhere in between
Oh they mixed it up and called it half n' half
