Out in the bush, Jack lost his way
Hiking with a mate, but now he's stray
Sun's beatin' down, no shade in sight
Just him and the outback, ready for a fight
Wombats scurry, kookaburras cackle
Jack's out here, avoiding jackals
Looking for water, looking for tracks
But something's creepin', and it's got his back
Lurkin' in the trees, sneakin' in the dark
Better watch your step, don't let down your guard
Fell to the ground as a voice in the air said
I'm Mr. Drop Bear
Stumbling 'round, found an old billabong
Heard a strange noise, like a didgeridoo song
Looked up high, saw some branches move
Jack's heart raced, better get back soon
Roos bouncing by, night starts to fall
Jack's feeling tense, shadows growing tall
Eyes in the dark, whispers drawing near
Suddenly he hears, G'day, I'm over here
Lurkin' in the trees, sneakin' in the dark
Better watch your step, don't let down your guard
Fell to the ground as a voice in the air said
I'm Mr. Drop Bear
In the land down under, the stars so bright
Jack's got a tale, oh what a night
Out jumped a critter with a cheeky grin
Jack's heart pounding, what's he gotten in
"Hey there, mate," the creature grinned wide
I'm the one they call, your outback guide
Lurkin' in the trees, sneakin' in the dark
Better watch your step, don't let down your guard
Fell to the ground as a voice in the air said
I'm Mr. Drop Bear
Jack's got a tale, one for the pub
Met Mr. Drop Bear, in the outback scrub
