Name Origin:
One possible explanation is that in 1985, a Mute Records technician is believed to have
accidentally written "erasure" on a demo tape for
Who Needs Love Like That
submitted by Clarke and Bell.
At the time, the duo still hadn't chosen a name for themselves, and when they rescued the tape,
they decided upon Erasure.

Quotes:
We're all using Logic actually. I've just recently started using Logic because I moved to America and I couldn't bring my studio over. So this time round I had to sit down and actually work and learn how to use Logic. It forced me to read manuals, which I hate.
Vincent Clarke
There's no secret really. I think me and Vince are pretty down to earth and we really like making music. I particularly like playing live and travelling around. I don't think we've been hyped ever, like beyond our means. I don't know, I think it's just our approach.
Andy Bell
Well, my boyfriend's from California so it's kind of a bit of California countryside but closer to home. It just takes a couple of hours to get there. I don't know, it's just very laid back, nobody knows who we are really. We've just got our friends there who are kind of outside Erasure and everything. It's just very nice
