Xine tosses and turns
With too much on his mind
Both legs are off the bed now
He sighs and readjusts
But he's on his feet now
Staring out the window
He climbs back in bed
And allows himself to sleep
A planet
He's greeted with
He looks down
To discover he's not there
A village
He's then shown
With skeletal homes
Though bustling with life
And then the scene shifts
Now he's shown the village again
But he sees something is amiss
Those daunting metal buildings
Have disappeared from his sight
He pries his eyes from the sky
To see where they could've gone
But he's greeted with a horrific sight
Oh, he sees the
Buildings that he was looking for
Now only rubble lying below his feet
That aren't there, so he can't run away
From the horrors that lie before him
From the
Fire that is surrounding him
Devouring everything in its wake
But he cant tell what is fueling it
But then he sees it, oh he sees the
Bodies that are dotting the ground
Clumped together into small groups
Desperately clinging to each other, their bodies
Interlocked, while the fire is wasting them away
Oh and the questions fly at Xine
Amidst his state of shock
He tries desperately to grasp them
But his mind won't let him, but they still keep coming
But then he sees him
And everything stops
A wondering straggler
A streak of life
Against this hopeless canvas
The stranger stares his way
And gestures him to follow
But Xine can't get himself to move
He yells out in his mind
But he's gone without a trace
He's jolted awake
To complete darkness
He fumbles for a torch
He knows what he has to do
He rushes out the door
In the middle of the night
With an image in his head
And a mess of unanswered questions
Like what the hell did I just see
And who was that stranger
And why'd he beckon me forth
And why do I have this damn image in my head
Xine gets to the edge of the cliff
And his suspicions are correct
The image engraved in his head
Is of his cliff perched over the sea
