Empirik - Cloud9 Lyrics

Opening my eyes to a world I wanna live in
Wake up to a sight, oh it always has me grinning
The sheets are fresh, the room is cold
I lose myself in every fold
I turn around, I see her there
She's sleeping in just underwear
The tangles of her messy hair
Are something that I cannot share
Fulfilment all around me as my coffee makes itself
Thinking it's a dream, there is so much of that wealth
Puffy eyes, blurry vision
These thoughts I always envision
Crumpled clothes on the floor
Make it hard to reach the door
Doesn't matter, clean up later
For now searching for a paper
(I wrote this when I was 17 by the way)

Now I speak at seventeen
Jumping out my bed, so keen
Snapshots of these hopes I get
But there's still so much to sweat
There will always be those days, when we feel like giving up
Those moments where it all feels too much to handle
Never want to look back trading medals for the cup
As much as it may be a life-long uphill battle
The friends around, that make you laugh
The ones that help you find the path
The smell of weed, the empty minds
The thoughts of every different kind
You're never bored, you are awake
You'll never ever have to fake
The travelling, the marveling
The way your life will always spring
Getting into bed just spent
Finding every day God-sent

Find the things you love to do
Find your own personal view
Never wait behind the queue
No one will give you your cue
Every day is a new page
A brand new chance for you to age
Your body is a vessel - that erodes with time
Your mind will however never have to leave its prime
Don't give up, keep on fighting
I will not abandon writing
Never stop your inquisition
Always fight your inhibitions
One day you will wake up wasted
Time is gone, you are fading
One night you will sleep forever
Until then never surrender
