In between the thoughts that keep me awake,
A battlefield, a silent quake,
Battles waged within these walls,
I can't outrun, no room to crawl.
Hidden demons in shadowed halls,
Answering despair's constant calls,
The echoes of my solitude,
Invisible monsters of magnitude.
Drinking poison from a silver cup,
Downward spirals that never let up,
But I am more than the struggle within,
More than this shell, more than my skin.
