Eric Clapton Quotes:
When receiving a CBE at Buckingham Palace: "I had a rebellious streak in me. As a kid I would not have been able to accept this. I was very immature about the way I looked at that. I was against the establishment. Now I have grown up, I really think it is an important thing to be able to set an example of some kind."
"Since I got sober, I've just been trying to develop...a career with dignity, records where I can say, 'I finished it,
it's complete. Whether or not it's up to the standard of the current thing, it's complete."
"It's been very important throughout my career that I've met all the guys I've copied, because at each stage they've said, 'Don't play like me, play like you.'"
