Not every hero wears a S on their chest
Not every hero wears a cape wears a super-suit to dress to impress
Some wear scrubs rubber gloves never rest they're the best
Stethoscopes around their neck to check the breath in your chest
They fight to save the lives of the people in need
With needles in veins, ventilators to breathe
ICU they see pain temperatures they decrease
Understaffed under pressure no more beds that are free
Little sleep it ain't fun minimum PPE but they get the job done
Endless hours superpowers to ensure the futures ours
But they never seem to get the hunch
Even when they work their lunch
Cause it's crunch time
An emergency caesarean delivering a son
They've saved the day again the face of a Mum illuminates call that sunshine
Heroes who don't hesitate to risk their lives as they face this virus on the frontline
We turn to you when we're feeling ill
Without you and your healing skills
We'd be lost way over the hills
We are blessed by your power of will
Not all heroes are named no
But you make the pain go
Now hold up your Rainbow
Of hope
The National Hero Service
Every 12-hour shift you fly in leading with your fist is a gift
To the people who are sick
On your mission to uplift
Squish the viral villain quick
Vital in us winning this
So heroic with the care that you give
Surgical procedures making miracles we're all believers
You're underrated leaders
Not just staff you're teachers
Your care for strangers shows us
We should treat others like how we want them to treat us
Like Jesus you see us you heal us
You're iconic look this ain't a comic book it's real life
Ironic cause I used to feel robotic bionic
Until you taught me how to fight the chronic crook in my mind
When OCD made me blind writing rhymes made me shine
You administer drugs
Taking the bloods no giving up
Always help us, busting a gut
We all have the faith cause in you we trust
I know this is rough but you are tough
We're thinking of you as you work off your but
You got within a marvellous thing the superpower of love
We turn to you when we're feeling ill
Without you and your healing skills
We'd be lost way over the hills
We are blessed by your power of will
Not all heroes are named no
But you make the pain go
Now hold up your Rainbow
Of hope
The National Hero Service
Maybe the politicians will now listen
The NHS are priceless you pay them pittance
Maybe this crisis will lift your ignorance
You can see they need more money but you're power driven
Make healthcare more priority in your decisions
Because they play essential roles in our existence
They save our souls make a difference hear what I've written
The NHS are heroes they put the Great in Britain
