They can lock me in this cell
Make my life a living hell
They can hide me from the world behind these walls
They can chain me like a beast
That's to wild to be unleashed
They can beat me till my weakened body falls
But they can't chain my soul to prison walls
They can't keep me here when Jesus calls
They can beat my body till the crimson flows
But they can't put shackles on my soul
These cold gray walls of stone
Will be here when I am gone
These chains will hold another in my place
But I'll be safe and free
Where no one can torture me
For soon I'll look upon my Savior's face.
