No More In Infant's Swaddling Bands Lyrics

Christmas Carols

No More In Infant's Swaddling Bands Lyrics
1. No more in infant's swaddling bands
Our Monarch is arrayed,
But where the glorious alter stands,
Resplendent in a thousand lands,
The King of kings is laid.

2. No longer on a manger bed
Reclines the God of Heaven,
But souls adoring now are led
To where His Christmas Feast is spread,
His very Self if given.

3. There, on His high Communion Throne,
We hail our God and Christ;
The Marvel to the world is shewn,
The Miracle to earth made known:
Heaven's Blessed Eucharist!

4. In Bethlehem "no room" was found
For Jesus at the inn;
So now, the heedless world around,
Though signs and wonders more abound,
Still loves itself -- and sin.

5. And Eucharistic bells may ring,
And Christmas joy to told,
And God's dear angels sweetly sing,
Yet will the world refuse its King,
His brightness not behold.

6. But pardoned sinners, kneeling bend
Where Saints have knelt before,
And seraphs from their sky descend,
While Heaven and earth together blend,
To worship and adore.
