Strangers
An epiphany came today to me
It was time I opened my eyes
There was nothing said it happened in my head
Still I knew you were gone
My world came down in a fashion
Scenes from another life without captions
All the lotta nerve without anger
When did we become strangers?
Our repartee had seen better days
Different lives under the same roof
Still the inclination to avoid confrontation
Served to hide the truth
It came undone in a spiral
The sense of loss it went viral
You never see the danger
When did we become strangers?
We want the good to last
Push the rest into the past
Never facing the things that we should
Keep all that we can save
The rest laid in a shallow grave
Sometimes bad and oh sometimes good
An epiphany, a discordant symphony
Was the soundtrack of our curtain call
With time hearts do mend but of all that depends
On the who, what where and why it falls
Our worlds came down in a fashion
Scenes from another life without captions
No why or how it just happens
Losing you is a game changer
When did we become strangers?
