Meet me down by the ocean where the waves gently roll o'er the sand
Meet me down by the ocean where we'll kiss and we'll walk hand in hand
Meet me where the soft warm winds are blowing and the spring rains fall on the land
Meet me where rugged cliffs are looming let me walk on the shores of Newfoundland
I grew up in a town called Joe Harbour down on the boot of NL
A town of fishermen and of miners who worked hard and lived of the land
No big box department stores in those days we ate what we grew on our own
One tiny general store a two-room schoolhouse one house that had a telephone
In my early years we moved to the city where my brothers lived, when they left home.
I fell in love with a pretty young bay girl we married and had family of our own.
Through the years our family grew around us our precious grandkids make up our crew
The treasures in life for me and my wife, we are blessed we had quite a few.
There are coves, tickles and harbours that make up this place we call home
It is full of pathways less travelled from its mountains on down to its foam
Side by side we'll walk through life together along the ocean so blue
I remember the first day so clearly the day when I fell in love with you
Meet me down by the ocean where the waves gently roll o'er the sand
Meet me down by the ocean where we'll kiss and we'll walk hand in hand
Meet me where the soft warm winds are blowing and the spring rains fall on the land
Meet me where rugged cliffs are looming let me walk on the shores of Newfoundland
Let me walk on the shores of Newfoundland
