We're all just human bodies
Atoms roaming in the evening
Falling victim to consequences of the fall in Eden
Watched our human nature grow
From the tree of knowledge of good and evil
Our Eve's ill
It's just our sick nature to be deceitful
Foliage grows inside our minds
Leaves our conscience at the door
Sins blooming into tombs
Roses on cemetery floors
We've gotten trapped inside our gardens
Cope by smoking on its weed, huh
Trying to reach heaven by way of cannabis sativa
And escape the suffering
The pain
The fear
The shame
Some would say that hell is a place on earth
Yes, the ground is cursed
The matter remnants of black lives
Six feet beneath the dirt
Mothers on their last dime trying to make it to the first
Women get to month nine just to die in childbirth
When a soul is stolen
Tell me, what's it worth
Tell me, what's it worth
Tell me, what's the price for a life
And what kind of man would sacrifice His own
So that we could all be set free
From the sins that we once called a home
What kind of man would willingly bleed
Let red seas ripple down His cheeks alone
To separate us like His Father did the waters
From all the wicked ways we've known
Tell me, who rose for our thorns
And seeds planted in the garden
Took the weeds and formed new life
Who was mocked, yet cried
Forgive them Father
What kind of man would sacrifice
To give us peace among the suffering
Joy in place of sadness
Take our disasters and create beauty from the ashes
Set us free from our demons
Help us conquer our Edens
Oh, that man
My Christ
His name is Jesus
