Caleb Isaac - High Strung Lyrics

Caleb Isaac - High Strung Lyrics

I was only fifteen, caught up in my dreams while my
Class was going on, cause I was always thinking bout
How lonely I'd become, making up these beats inside my
Head 'fore time was gone
And my mind was pristine, lost in thought, lost inside
Lucid make believe, but time goes on, caught up in some
Others' right and wrong, playing with identity and feeling so alone

I was only fifteen, living with what seemed to be some
Lowered self esteem, in a small class, only had a
Few friends that I would see, I tried balling but
No I wasn't six feet tall, all involved, winter and fall, and
Every Spalding that I tossed never made it, I was
So appalled, I thought I was a failure, perfectionism's
Awful, ratchet kids judged me for my talking
A softie, worried bout how other people saw me

Let go, you're too high strung
Don't let their words go and break your soul
Let go, you're too high strung
Just live your life cause it won't last long

I was only sixteen, feeling stupid and delusional, I
Lost my self-esteem, fixated on my problems and I
Wanted to be free, the theater kids would leave me be and
Make another scene, I could never find relief
I was buried under papers, every class was honors
Had to leave the whole theater, it was too much drama
Class was boring and I felt like I was held underwater
But I still stuck it out so I could get good karma
I was quiet, uninvited, kept inside to stay alive
I had real friends, fake friends, couldn't see the lies
I was only sixteen but I was scared I'd never rise
And be successful, dad went and looked me in the eyes
And said

Let go, you're too high strung
Don't let their words go and break your soul
Let go, you're too high strung
Just live your life cause it won't last long
Let go, you're too high strung
Don't let their words go and break your soul
Let go, you're too high strung
Just live your life cause it won't last long

I was bored, went and bought a keyboard and a mic
Played some piano chords, wrote about the pain in my life
How my thoughts made a prison for this kid with a vision
And how he still dragging all this dead weight around with him
Now I'm only nineteen, life is frightening, but I won't
Hide cause I'm tryna find my own peace of mind and my
Mic still waiting for the next track, next day
I keep moving on, no more crying in vain
No high strung
