Here I am again to begin again
And to find some sort of quiet end
Along the straight of night
A double appears to fight
Through the thick I find a man
"Do you know who I am?"
In life's fated rough
Even if it's me, I'm not enough
I croon with the heart that's left
Even though you've gone deaf
To the wonder, to the despair
My same old tune
Here I am again to story-tell again
And to find some sort of end
Here I am again, you see but don't believe
I gather the baggage to cleave
She took on loan my rare charms
Taking harbor in my empty arms
With a self-help glow to her way
I should have known what she'd say
Here I am again
