Never bit god's red right hand
I used to kneel and be a patient lamb
But now during homily I stand

Wake up early and start to pray
But no the words get lost along the way
And I can hear that fiddle play
Now I wander through the desert streets
Both hands bleeding while my heart still beats
I walked too far through fire to turn around
So I follow the rails towards the burial ground
I used to be such a righteous man
Asked forgiveness, tried to helped the damned
Now I'm a stranger in a foreign land
I should have listened while I could understand
I used to wonder all about my death
Lay in bed, say "I'm not ready yet"
Look for redemption in a book I kept
But I've been bones since the day I left
