I was just sitting down
On a stump that I had found
Staring into the pine trees
As they moved around with the breeze
I turned my eyes to the sky
Why are clouds so much larger than I
I held my breath and I closed my eyes
And heard the wings of a butterfly
Why is silence so common in the woods
You never get it in the city
And as the butterfly kissed my nose
I said butterfly please forgive me
For trespassing in your zone
But thank you for sharing it with me
And the butterfly did condone
Cuz butterflies aren't greedy no
On a walk I went to a shrine
On the top of a mountain high
Dedicated to a man
That used to work in the old gold mine
Years he'd stay up on a hollowed mountain
And play his fiddle for the town below
Every night his fiddle was shouting
As he strummed those strings with the bow
But one night there was no sound
Except for a shot from a rifle
And when the minors went up the next day
They sadly found the answer to their riddle
So the town then built him a shrine
And years later a guy hiked on up
And danced in the wind with a butterfly
And afterwards he sat on a stump
Damn
