I'm sitting fireside
I'm getting tired eyes
And my soul is after
That rolling laughter I once felt
I see it in the trees
I hear it in the breeze
That cold punch of nostalgia
Caught me in the balls each time
Now, I wont say the pills dont work
But that sunshine really hurts my skin
I wonder if I can get back in
Into the water cold and clear
To quench my thirst and stave my fear
Of drifting backwards through the years
I'm tearing out the pages
And throwing them away
They're overlooked
My sunny side is overcooked and I'm so burnt out
Now, I won't say the pills don't work
But that sunshine really hurts my skin
I wonder if I can get back in
Into the water cold and clear
To quench my thirst and stave my fear
Of drifting backwards through the years
