The BLK Boi George
Ay yo, I knew this cat named Mel from down south
Who's problems grew bigger than the California king size
With no father in the picture, you know the type
And his moms was too busy sucking on the pipe
Anger issues so his family didn't want a deal
Burning bridges cause he couldn't control how he feel
Dip and dabbled in a few drugs, tried to be a thug
But the streets didn't show him love
He was too much on the softer side, tho he had heart, he wasn't built to go hug the block
With no options till he had to make a way
And it's sad to say, he had to capitalize on being gay
But what is gay when your mind is made on what you want
Being straight is understanding what you like and don't
So he made his mind up on how to go about it
Trading favors for a place to stay in niggas houses
Every now and then his moms get her life together
But relapsed, now he back out in the cold weather
But it worsen when she caught the sentence
Now she off the prison
And Defax put him into a center
Orphaned off to different families
Till he turned 17, Defax told him that he had to leave
With no loved ones in the M.I.A
The only favor that they gave him was a one way ticket to the"A"
Life in Georgia wasn't much different
When you sent here with a hundred dollars & no pot to piss in
But the hustle game was wide open, And he had determination in trying to start his life over
Mom's locked up for years to come, So no more being a child, gotta find his way on his own
Standing on them street corners looking for a John
He didn't got the frame of mind to want to get a job
Little money for a little time
And the money came easier cause he was still in this prime
Sugar daddies that could be his grandpa, Want to take him off the streets just so they can have a kid to floss
A life of danger living on the edge but how can he resist when this life has been a living hell
Tried to pray but the answers never seem to come
And it almost ended when he got shot by a gun
They try to f*ck you over once they f*ck you
And they try to rape you when they feel they didn't get what's worth their money
But like a soldier, he had bounced back And what I love most about him he was a hustler in Full Effect
Different strokes for different folks I'm not the one to judge
It was my place to be a friend and let him know he's loved
Life's a bitch this world it sucks u in And we waiting on the day For us to meet her husband
Dear God
I need some of your Love
Cause it's been a Struggle
I can't hold this pain no more
Dear God
I need some of your Love
Cause it's been a Struggle
I can't hold this pain no more
Soon after his recovery
He had some blood work that came back that said, that he caught HIV
It's like Shawty couldn't catch a break
God sent his son to hell before he had his first birthday
To find happiness it's sure to die, At least that's what he thought But I tried my best to lead him to the light
Everything is for a bigger purpose
You gotta believe that you're worth it
Ain't nobody on this world that's perfect
People say they down to ride
But when adversity comes knocking, People quick to show their other side
I couldn't live with myself knowing someone that had needed help, Asked, & my nose was high up in the air
What is love, if you can't give some kind words
When you smile it's contagious to the muscle nerves
Today, Mel, doing much better
He finished school and his moms came home
They now live together
Dear God
I need some of your Love
Cause it's been a Struggle
I can't hold this pain no more
Dear God
I need some of your Love
Cause it's been a Struggle
I can't hold this pain no more
I'm tired of searching
Tired of struggling
Tired of dealing with other people's opinions
Tired of hustling
Tired of mussling
For this paper when it amounts to nothing
It's Mel's message
It's Mel's message
It's Mel's message
