The Black Keys - Dropout Boogie Album Lyrics

The Black Keys - Dropout Boogie Lyrics

Wild Child

I'm just a stranger
With a twisted smile and a wandering eye
Your heart is in danger
Come close now, let me tell you a lie

Wild child
You got me running through the turnstile
Baby girl, we better make it worthwhile
You're gonna get my love today, yeah

You are a sweet dream
With a tender heart and beautiful smile
But things aren't what they seem
So I'll let you go and dream for a while

Wild child
You got me coming outta exile
Baby girl, you know I'm liking your style
You're gonna get my love today, yeah

I just wanna hold you at the end of every day
Girl, I wanna please you, oh, I'm needing you to stay
The sun is gonna shine if you would just come out and play
Baby, won't you show me your wild child ways

Wild child
You got me running through the turnstile
Baby girl, we better make it worthwhile
You're gonna get my love today, yeah

Wild child
You got me coming outta exile
Baby girl, you know I'm liking your style
You're gonna get my love today, yeah

It Aint Over

Money and love ain't no sure thing
You live for a thrill, you die for a dream
And when it comes around
You lay your money down (ooh)
You got a love that's a real longshot
Breakin' the bank for your new weed spot
And she comes around
You lay your money down

No one else for you to blame
But when you play that losing game
It ain't over
So try to ease up, worried mind
Dreams come true from time to time
It ain't over

What are the odds if you let them roll?
Win or lose, it's gonna take your soul
And you can't turn around
Lay your money down
One up your sleeve might get you two in your chest
Hurt in your heart, but they know best
And when she comes around
You lay your money down

No one else for you to blame
But when you play that losing game
It ain't over
So try to ease up, worried mind
Dreams come true from time to time
It ain't over

No one else for you to blame
But when you play that losing game
It ain't over
So try to ease up, worried mind
Dreams come true from time to time
It ain't over
No one else for you to blame
But when you play that losing game
It ain't over

For the Love of Money

For the love of money
We would do most anything
Anything, for a taste of honey
We would do it all again
All again, yeah

We got tall, tall buildings
We got streets of gold
Cheats and liars, our friends get old
Bright, bright diamonds that shine like shame
Green, green acres and God's good name

For the love of money
We would sell our very souls
Goodness knows
Start acting funny, do anything that we're told
That we're told, yeah

We got fooled with riches, getting fat on lies
Nothing but trouble here in paradise
Deal's in the making, you just name your price
If your soul's for sale, you just name your vice

Don't need to tell you that money can buy you love, love
Once you get money then you'll never have enough, no

For the love of money
We will climb the highest hill
Yes, we will
Turn your back on Buddy
For a greenback dollar bill
Dollar bill, yeah

Love of money
Love of money, yeah
Love of money
Love of money, yeah
Love of money
Love of money, yeah

Your Team Is Looking Good

Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good
Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good
Your team is lookin' good, but not as good as ours

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
You beat everybody, but you won't beat us
Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good
Uh

Uh

Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good
Hey, hey, over there, your team's sure lookin' good
Your team is lookin' good, but not as good as ours

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
You beat everybody, but you won't beat us
Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good

Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good
Hey, hey, over there, your team is lookin' good

Uh, ah

Good Love

Good loving is so hard to find
Everybody wanna waste your time
Waste your time, yours and mine
A good love is hard to find

Good loving is so hard to feel
You got nothing 'til you find the real deal
Find the real, there it is
A good love is hard to feel

Don't you rush it, gotta take it slow
You can't listen to the friends you know
'Cause they don't know what you know
But good love is hard to know

How Long

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

Will you give yourself to another guy

And never give our love another try?

Why?

Keep runnin' that dream all over town

While you keep on kicking me to the ground

Ground

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

Will you keep on pushing me down the road

Thinking I'ma do what just what I'm told?

No

Pat me by just one more time

You're never gonna get this heart of mine

Mine

We've been on this dead-end road

Believe we're ready to explode

And even in our final hours

See the beauty in the dying flowers

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

How long? How long?

Burn the Damn Thing Down

Way out over the ocean
Deep down under the sea
Way up high to the top of the mountain
And everywhere in between

We've been rolling
We keep on rolling
We've been driving
Day and night

If we make it to your town
We're gonna burn the damn thing down

We been flat-broke busted
Running on our borrowed time
The engine never rusted
'Cause we stay far down the line

We've been rolling
We keep on going
We've been high
Day and night

If we make it to your town
We're gonna burn the damn thing down

Keep on rolling
We keep on going
We've been high
Day and night

If we make it to your town
We're gonna burn the damn thing
Make it to your town
Gonna burn the damn thing down, woo-hoo

Happiness

Wait if you want to
That won't do you no good
You're gonna hate to be the one who
Didn't do it when you could

You got to do the thing you don't want doing
Even if it's going to ruin what you had
If what you had was bad
Say the words you don't want saying
Find the nerve to stop delaying
Happiness, it isn't known to us

Worry is gonna kill you
Don't let it win in the end
Find a lover who can thrill you
Maybe you begin again

You got to do the thing you don't want doing
Even if it's going to ruin what you had
If what you had was bad
Say the words you don't want saying
Find the nerve to stop delaying
Happiness, it isn't known to us

Do the thing you don't want doing
Even if it's going to ruin what you had
If what you had was bad
Say the words you don't want saying
Find the nerve to stop delaying
Happiness, it isn't known to us

Do the thing you don't want doing
Even if it's going to ruin what you had
If what you had was bad
Say the words you don't want saying
Find the nerve to stop delaying
Happiness, it isn't known to us

Baby Im Coming Home

Patiently, you wait for me
To close the tab and hurry home
The streets are paved with broken dreams
And fantasies that we've outgrown

Sadie, I'll be coming home
Baby, save me from the road
Yeah, baby, I'm coming home

I buy the things that make you smile
And send them with a kiss
The road is winding home
And only you know what I've really missed

Sadie, I'll be coming home
Baby, save me from the road
Yeah

Didn't I Love You

You may not be believe me, baby
'Cause I didn't always treat you right
Might have deceived you, lady
Maybe I stayed out late at night

But didn't I love you?
Didn't I love you?
Hey, didn't I love you?

I'm sorry I hurt you, honey
I'm just a complicated fool
Down in the dirt, all muddy
I know you know there's no excuse

But didn't I love you?
Didn't I love you?
Hey, didn't I love you?

Didn't I squeeze you, baby?
Didn't I hold you late at night?
Didn't I feed you, lady?
Didn't I make you feel alright?

Didn't I love you?
Didn't I love you?
Didn't I love you?

Hey, ooh
