Black Damien - Damien's PSA Lyrics

Who am I
What am I feeling
Some want to die
Some need healing
Some just want to be
Free to live
A societal message
Of what it means to give
Ones attention
Ones empathy
Not condescension
Not sympathy
A child who feels strange
To be his or herself
Thought of as weird or Deranged
Open up ones hearts beyond
Criticism
Beyond the schism
Because we all know the realism
And affect of ridicule
In work or school
The awareness that scares us
Being we're antagonized
By judgmental eyes
Uneducated reactions
Of fools whom are cruel
The daily life of the picked Upon
The self inflicted wounds
Of a knife or gun
Unnoticed by parental figures
Of their daughter or son
The disbelief
The stigma
The hidden grief
The enigma
Multi layered
Misunderstanding

They called me one eye
But I didn't cry
They called me crazy
It didn't phase me
At one point it did
One way to quiet
The laughs and stares
Is for me not to care
One way to quiet
The laughs and stares
Is for me not to care
Not to care

Together we need banding
Shoot up a club
Where we're supposedly
Free to be ourselves
Receive laughter
And degradation
In facilities where
They're supposed to help
Puts us in shells of
Emotional hell
Many are afraid to tell
Sometimes all we need
Is a non threatening ear
In a safe setting for
Man woman child
To feel comfortable
Knowing someone will hear
Without backlash or fear
And shed no more tears
As I come through
After the years and
Years and years
As I come through
I see my peers in tears
Every time I see them
I want their freedom
And I see some
People on the side
Without their pride
Who will ride for a
Homicide

They called me one eye
But I didn't cry
They called me crazy
It didn't phase me
At one point it did
One way to quiet
The laughs and stares
Is for me not to care
One way to quiet
The laughs and stares
Is for me not to care
Not to care
