Ben Varney - Mariner's Curse Lyrics

Ben Varney - Mariner's Curse Lyrics
Official

Another year of life, while I'm stuck up in the cuffs of ice
Feasting on the rats but I fear that it won't suffice
Looking at the sky wishing that I could fly
Maybe in another life but for now I just write
About the past days and the errors of my dark ways
Was riding on the harsh waves, now I'm in a glass case
Surrounded by the frozen seas and the ship walls
The setting dismal, save our souls the signal
Shot for the moon, something landed on the deck quick
What the f*ck I get? A dead bird for a necklace
They wrapped it 'round my head as a curse cus I'm reckless
Death hopped aboard just to add to the cesspit
Setting off, seas were lethal like some fentanyl
Weathered storms, breeze was screaming like the devil's call
We awoke in the middle of these distant seas
Now we stranded on the ice, it's a trilogy
Writing lines in my journal
Wish that I could fly in the sky like the birds do
Strapped to the tide, swear this life is a circle
Stay upon this ship, I'd rather dive in a whirlpool
Tally mark for a calendar
I'm a young lost traveller
Sirens call my name, they wanna sing for the scavenger
Bird 'round my neck, it's the curse of the mariner
Aye, Yeah
Aye, it's Varney
Stranded III
Gloomily I loomed the seas over many moons
Rats fled the ship, I bid adieu to Pettigrews
Trapped on icy water cus the wind never blew
Until one wretched morning, in the air something flew
So I shot into the sky, hit this big old feathered guy
Now I wear him like a pendulum, a pendant of my doom
So my hopes of getting home just a remnant in the gloom
See Death swing his sickle like a segment of the moon
Been upon this ship six years and a day
All six of the crew in the locker of Dave
Out in the sticks, I been sick since the bay
The Devil's Triangle, where I'm stuck, let me pray
Went to Hell's gates but I couldn't pay the Ferryman
I had some silver coins but forgot where I buried them
The Kraken gonna breach out the sea like caesarean
Tapping on the glass, we all live in this aquarium
Writing lines in my journal
Wish that I could fly in the sky like the birds do
Strapped to the tide, swear this life is a circle
Stay upon this ship, I'd rather dive in a whirlpool
Tally mark for a calendar
I'm a young lost traveller
Sirens call my name, they wanna sing for the scavenger
Bird 'round my neck, it's the curse of the mariner
