The sun burns our skin if we get too close
But it's healing rays we need the most
Just like bugs circling round the light
Get too close and they pop and die
So lets take a a train straight to the moon
If we leave now we won't get there too soon
Just kick back and enjoy the ride
Well make do with what we got in the pale moonlight
The haves get tired of all of the have not
Buy up to their homes and make em parking lots
If you don't have a ticket you can't even pray
That you'll get a chance to take the moon train
Did you hear what happened to that moon train
It got into orbit and just drifted away
And I guess we'll never see them folks again
So we'll stay down down here with sunburned skin
And smiles on our faces
Tears in our eyes
Life ain't nothing but a grand surprise
Life ain't nothing but a grand surprise
Ghosts on the sidewalk in cool summer nights
Life ain't nothing but a Grand Surprise
