I met an earthworm living in my garden
He said, My good sir, spring will soon be here
'Cause in the ground I hear the roots of flowers growing
In spite of all your anger and your fear
And then he crawled away, it took forever
But it gave me time to sit and stop and think
I looked up at the sky, saw it was raining
A wake-up call to every living thing
Some days are hard, some days are easy on the eyes
But other days, we need the rain
It seems so strange that spring is here among us
When most people I know are stuck inside
And through our screens we wave to our companions
We say, What a strange, strange time to be alive
I hope that we can start a revolution
Six feet apart, but twenty miles high
And I hope that, when we are all together
We have a softer kind of hope and clearer skies
Some days are hard, some days are easy on the eyes
But other days, we need the rain
