Born into a manger
Straw to crown His head
The all powerful Creator
Resolved to take on flesh
The bright and morning star
The Author of all life
To darkness he would condescend
To flood the world with light
Birds, they build in branches
Foxes have a den
Yet the Lord of all creation
Has nowhere to lay his head
The one whom angels offer
Their worship and acclaim
For sinful man would he endure
Scorn, neglect, and shame
You could have come in splendor
Arrayed in robes of light
And called the world to render
Homage to your might
Still you chose to suffer
Far from heaven's throne
To purify a people you would
Call your very own
Now, my Lord, I pray
Find here a willing soul
Surrendered unto you my King
Make this heart your home
How could i be a stranger
To Him who set me free
Come and take your rightful place
Lord, abide in me
